Dr. "Buzz" Frenzy (Matthew J Hesse) I love the duality of the foreground instrumentation and its expanding/dissapating overtones at the front of the mix, paired with the more distant echoing reverberations of accompanying instrumentation in the back of the mix creating an atmosphere of simultaneous continuity between near and far. Perfectly fits the theme. Haunting, sometimes dissonant, and yet overall strangely peaceful. Beautiful. Favorite track: Amma (a requiem for the paleocontact hypothesis).

sumbuk A side project by Xavier Gelard the drummer for Ghost rhythms, this sounds like the soundtrack to a short indy film. As usual, Camille Petit helps out on keyboards, as a best friend/collaborator should. :-)

liosillon Cette musique témoigne d'une sensation de beauté extrême : c'est de la balle. Favorite track: Nommo.

about

An homage to Dieu d'eau, a book by Marcel Griaule about the Dogon tribe in Africa and their astronomical knowledge.
A requiem to the paleocontact hypothesis, which claimed that Dogons learnt this knowledge from ancient astronauts from another planet.
And, most of all, an illustration of a sentence from Dieu d'eau :
"Dogon religion and Dogon philosophy both expressed a haunting sense of the original loss of twin-ness. The heavenly Powers themselves were dual, and in their Earthly manifestations they constantly intervened in pairs…"
